We are one of the leading pharmaceutical formulations manufacturing companies in Eastern India operating since more than forty years.
The Company was incorporated at Kolkata in 1975 by entrepreneurs Late Sudhindra Kumar Sen and his wife Smt. Jamuna Sen as Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors respectively. The manufacturing and testing facilities at that time was at a factory in Motijheel, Dum Dum.
With the vast knowledge and experience of Mr. Sen in pharma marketing in MNCs and the homely atmosphere building capacity of Mrs. Sen the house gradually earned the reputation of one of the most stable pharma units in West Bengal. The company marketed its own products since the initial stage and also introduced many innovative preparations like amino acids and vitamins in tablet form etc. Some of our brands like Apetox and Melcholine have been well recognized continuously by the doctors and are still serving the ailing patients.
Since the demise of Mr. Sen in 2001, the helm has been taken up entirely by Mrs. Sen as C & MD. She was the architect of shifting of our plant to an erstwhile, state of the art cGMP compliant manufacturing and Quality Control facility at the Naba Diganta Industrial Township in Sector V area of Salt Lake, Kolkata. Here, in the respective units, a range of oral tablet and liquid formulations are being manufactured and tested under the strict surveillance of a Quality Assurance Officer following regulatory mandates. A few products are also got manufactured by way of contract manufacturing from some highly reputed quality conscious units located outside West Bengal to enable intoduction of different group of products and newer technology.
The marketing footprint of Kumayun covers several states with emphasis on West Bengal and parts of U.P, Bihar, Jharkhand and Mizoram. The company endevours to expand its marketing foothold across the country. The marketing of our products is conducted by a team of expert and experienced field personel. The products are distributed to the retailers directly by the company through a large network of whole sellers appointed as local stockists.
